The UK is in trouble, how do we fix it before it breaks?

By Dark Politricks

I have just watched the Andrew Marr show with his interview with David Cameron which covered an number of interesting matters such as the influence of lobbying and lobbyist especially his closeness betweeen the government and Rupert Murdoch, the economic crisis which has seen the UK enter a double dip recession.

Thinking of this interview and the state our country is in at the moment and with a bit of previous thought that has always remained in my consisouncess I believe we need to come up with a basic plan of steps that can help to restore our country.

These steps should not be ideologically bound and should be considered in a "what works, works" conceptiuial basis. Whether you are a Tory, Liberal or Socialist we all are suffering under the same problems and a solution that works should be considered whether or not it neatly fits inside your ideological view box or not.

The Economy

The private sector has not rushed into fill all the public sector jobs that are being lost. People are being put on the dole which increases government payments for jobseeker allowance and housing benefit and in turn increases the amount we need to borrow and therefore increases national debt. Therefore the question needs to be asked whether or not in makes more logical sense (and in turn basic mathematical sense) to keep on this track.

Many people might blame our tax rates and they might be right. If it can be proven that lower company taxes or a flat tax rate system will bring in more actual revenue to the governments coffers then I have no problem with it.

However corporation tax has already been dropped, our tax free allowance raised twice already, the higher rate of tax dropped from 50% to 45% and no influx of private sector jobs has occurred yet.

Here is something that ought not to be just a thought experiment. I would love to know if some university professor with too much time on his well paid hands has tried workig this out or not and please if anyone knows the answer let me in on it.

In the 1980's our PM of the time Maggie Thatcher went to war with the miners. Many mines were unprofitable but they supported whole villages and towns and were often the only place for people in the local area to work.

Therefore when the mines were closed whole swathes of the country were made unemployed and in time due to the 3 million unemployed people on the dole the government told the employment agency to shift people onto disability allowance if there were eve the slightest thing wrong with them so that the figures were reduced and they could claim success in the war against unemployment.

This is the same government (although a different generation) that is now trying to get people off the disability allowance they had put them on to help win elections. Hypocrisy?

There were no private companies in these places for the people to go to work in and most of the miners were unskilled manual labourers with little other skills. The only "fix" given by the government of the time was from Norman Tebit who said "Get on your bike" and look for work.

Many of these miners are still jobless and many of the towns and villages that were based around the mines are now desolate wastelands full of empty or broken houses, drugs, drink and other social problems.

Now if someone at the time of this massive descission could have done the maths and worked out whether over the next 20-30 years the amount of money spent in dole money, sickness and housing benefit, extra police, court and prison costs and all the other long term costs that come with massive social deprivation and compared it with the subsidies or lost money from the mines which would come out on top?

Is it better to have a town full of people all working, all feeding their familes, all with a sense of pride in their community living in a town with lower social deprivation at the cost of a government subsidy?

Put aside your libertarian or socialist views and consider it from a basic mathematical point of view. Which do you think costs more?

This is the question we should be asking now with the current public sector cuts. Without knowing the actual true cost of the massive mine closure over 30 years I would surmise that it is cheaper to keep people working and off multiple government subsidies (dole, housing etc) and keeping a loss making mine open - another government subsidy.

So it comes down to a simple question of which subsidy is more benefiial for society? The ones handed out in dole and police wages or the one keeping open the mine and along with it the town that works there.

Remember that the higher cost of current government subsidies for unemployed people has brought our borrowing levels up NOT down and it is only our low interest rates that have kept our heads above water and not turned the UK  into a permanent London riot all year long like Greece and Spain.

Stimulating the Economy

Just a few off the top of my head.
  • Tax breaks for UK companies that make their products within the UK and don't offshore them to slave labour camps like China.
  • Tax breaks for companies who hire long unemployed people e.g if you have been unemployed for over 1 year or even 6 months.
  • More emphasis on ensuring companies are not hiring illegal migrants and keeping UK citizens out of jobs through the use of slave labour. A National Insurance card must be provided, photocopied and saved for every employee and provided on demand by people who's actual job is to prevent slave labour from occurring.
  • Closing all tax loopholes and ensuring any international company who wants to sell their goods in one of the biggest markets in the world has a UK company setup on these shores and all relevant corporation tax paid to our treasury from that company.
  • Setting up a UK PLC company that is owned by all the taxpayers of the country who will recieve dividends from the company each year - used to stimulate the company. They would battle in the economy like any other company for private work but for government contracts they should get first dibs - and why not I ask? The Labour government has shown us through PPI how much money was (and still will be for the next 20 odd years at least) on these private public investment schemes. The UK PLC company would be filled with UK workers with valid national insurance cards, the long term unemployed, ex prisoners, other people struggling to get work AND any other workers who apply to vacacnies when required. The only benefits this company would have compared to others is in the non private workspace e.g government contracts.
  1. It gets first refusal on any government contract whether it be an IT system or new Hospital building or even just a maintenance role at a school. Why pay a private company hundreds of pounds to change a light bulb when we should be able to do it cheaply? Believe me through Gordon Browns PPI system we do pay hundreds of pounds to change light bulbs in hospitals and schools all around the country.
  2. If it makes a profit the profit is divided between expanding the company and paying dividends to us taxpayers who will then use that money stimulating the economy in the private marketplace.
  3. It is a first port of call for the long term unemployed and others seeking work to find a job working for their country.
Banking.
  1. We need to create a national bank that has proper interest rates for savers and encourage people to save money again at a rate that makes it worthwhile.
  2. We need a bank that is owned by the people of the country and is willing to loan out money to small businesses who are the companies who give people jobs.
  3. We need a bank that is owned by the people that's job isn't to make money purely from money e.g gambling, as we know all the big players do with their high frequency trading and front running.
  4. We need s bank that is owned by the people where the profit is given out to the shareholders of the company each year (the taxpayers of the country) and not in million pound bonuses to a few of their best AND most of their worst gamblers.
  5. We already have huge stake-holds in more than one bank. We should take the whole thing over and turn it into a bank run for the people of the nation for the benefit of the nation.
Can you imagine as a working tax payer being given a yearly cheque for a few thousand pounds to spend as you wish because you as a taxpayer are also a shareholder in a national bank?
This is one way to stimulate the economy as well as incentivise people without jobs to get jobs and to start paying tax.

The European Union

We should leave the European Union as soon as possible. We should give them an ulimatium either make the whole shaky house of cards what is should have been a free trading zone, with free movement of people and goods and not a semi quasil supra government in which unelected people can weild enormous power and the elected EU government can weild little.

The Euro should never have gone ahead as it was clear to many people at the time that the North and South European countries were two totally different systems that would never mesh together and it was only with the help of the criminals at Goldman Sachs that allowed countries like Greece to hide their huge debts and get on board the Titanic with no-one noticing.

We will save money and keep our own embassies and seats at the UN instead of what is surely on the EU's roadmap a huge polical union like the USA in which the EU is the only embassy in each country and the EU Foreign Minister makes descisions for all European nations.

Whilst there are some good things in the EU there are plenty of bad and I cannot see the balance being tilted the other way anytime soon.

The case of Abu Qatada has shown our weakness in the face of unelected European judges and whilst I am happy to know that an appeal lodged at the European Court of Human Rights will take up to 7 years to be heard and maybe prevent Gary McKinnon from being deported to the USA the flipside is also true and it prevents us from deporting dangerous criminals like Abu Qatadar.

Law, Equality and Liberty

The case of Abu Qatadar brings me onto the legal system in the UK.
We should create our own Bill of Rights on the same lines as the US Bill of Rights and that every single person wether they be a policeman or royal is covered by the Bill and everyone in the UK is equal under the law.

I want to know 100% that I will be given the same treatment by the judiciary as the Queen if she let her pack of Corgi's maul a child to death or drink drive into a bus stop full of people killing many of them. Only when we are all equal under the same law - a British made law and one that is the highest law in the land can we call ourselves free and equal.

Alongside this the true "Freedom Bill" should be implemented post haste not the weak and feeble cut down version making its way through parliament at the moment. It is a disgusting stain on the Lib Dem's character that they allowed the Tories to rip out everything good about the bill and turn it into a wheel clampers justice bill.

These reforms will rebalance our extradition treaty with the USA, restore our right to silence under police interview, give back our right to protest near parliament and many more important laws the pro-surveillence governent of Labour (and now seemingly the coallition) had brought in.

The English should have their own parliament to solve the West Lothian question and to prevent Scottish MP's voting to raise UK students tuition fees whilst they can keep University free in their own country.
We should do away with this mismash of devolution which Tony Blair started and go the full hog.

We should have full devolution for all 4 parts of the UK in which citizens of those countries vote for their local MP to sit in their countries parliament on matters that affect their country alone and then sit within the Westminister parliament when the matter is UK wide e.g whether to go to war, to sign treaties with other nations and other important UK matters.

The English parliament can sit in the Houses of Parliament in Westminster and matters covering the whole UK will involve members of parliament from the Scottish parliament, the Welsh parliament and the Northern Irish one.

Immigration

I live in a town that due to Joanna Lumley is no longer recoognisable due to the ex Gurka veterans (who I have no problem with at all) bringing their whole families over to live in this country. This would be fine if:
  • They could speak English.
  • They were not all given houses straight away, houses some of us have waited decades on the housing list for.
  • They were not overloading our already strained and mercilessly cut public services.
  • They would at least try and learn our culture and fit in. A thank you wave when you let someone through at a junction is not too much to ask - I know a little thing that many other people don't do but it's little things like this that really grind my gears (quote Peter Griffin)
People come to the UK from Africa with HIV and turn up at the nearest hospital and then given the best treatment around for free whilst someone who has live in this country their whole life and can trace their history back hundreds of years is treated contentably by the NHS when they have a serious illness.
I am not against immigration as it was badly needed after World War II and when English people won't take the jobs someone needs to do them.
  • What I am against is the fact that whole swathes of the UK are now ghettos where a white person would feel threatened to walk at night.
  • Where on a bus ride in certain towns you can hear a myriad of conversations, that is apart from English.
  • Where if you open a door to a woman in a head scarf or let her pass in the street she won't even look at you in the eye let alone say thank you. I know their culture forbids it but this is Britain not Saudi Arabia and we treat women as equals not slaves therefore we should expect some modicum of "fitting in" if we are going to allow tens of millions of people all from various cultures into our country.
I feel that we should have tigther border controls and that anyone wishing to migrate to this country should be able to pass an entrace exam on our history as well as basic English before being allowed on our soil.

Once they have completed there exams they should be given a citenship ceremony in which they are presented their national insurance card. A card by the way which should be mandatory display at any doctors, hostpital or benefits agency.

We all got them when we were 16 and any new immigrant should be proud to achieve the right to hold one. They are not national ID cards but they are a sign you are entitled to work, pay tax, claim benefits and this should include health care.

Not only will this help social cohesion it will install a sense of pride at achieving British Citizenship. We should abolish the stupid tests Labour brought in which were more about how to claim benefits than history and our existing culture. Labour ruined this country in more ways than can be counted.

We want people who want to live here and accept our way our life. I don't want our government sending troops to foreign lands so that they can say that "we fight them over there so we don't fight them over here"  whilst at the same time we have thousands of men and women within our shores looking at our culture in disgust and planning payback for all that "collateral damage" we do across the world. It goes both ways and I definitely don't agree with the wars we are in.

There are so many other things I could go on about including stopping the wars, ending the surveillence state, removing our tongue from the USA's ass and much more but I think I have said enough for one morning. Lets cross our fingers and pray to the great big Spaghetti monster in the sky that some of it becomes true.

Bahrain the country the MIddle East Spring Forgot

By Dark Politricks I am glad the Formula One race is taking place in Bahrain this weekend as it actually brings some focus back to one of the places the world seems to have forgotten about during the uprisings across the Middle East.

It seems that the Middle East Spring, to some people at least, only includes countries we would like to see political change occur within.

Those countries that have become less pliable and bribable or countries in which we have wanted to see other countries influence such as Russia (Syria and Iran) removed so that we can rain democracy and Western subservience from the sky like bombs over Dresden. Bahrain and Saudia Arabia have had just as bad problems as many of the other countries we have supported in the mainstream media so much over the year it is just that they are both:
  1. Allies which means we stay quiet during the suppression, killing and brutality of their governments against their people.
  2. Hold major bases for the US Empire including an important Navy base in Bahrain and Army bases in Saudi Arabia.
  3. The majority of those people fighting for their rights are Shi'ites and we don't really like them in the West. Out of the various Muslim sects they are the ones who we seem to care the least about. Plus of course Iran is Shi'ite and Iran is evil. Always remember that! Iran is evil - Iran is evil - Iran is evil - open your mind - Iran is evil.....
So actually having some focus put back on the country that the Middle East Spring forgot in the West is a good thing even if it does come at the expense of Formula One, a massive multi million pound industry that brings in huge advertisers and media coverage.

We must not forget that the reason the West is secretly arming and supporting the Syrian rebels. Various groups that include true protesters as well as al-Qaeda members, false flag specialists and terrorists apt at using social media and western gullibility to blame attacks they have committed themselves on Syrian forces are all designed at taking out a major ally of a country we really want to attack - Iran.

The last thing the US/UK/Israel axis of war want when they finally move towards attacking Iran is for Syria to join in and attack Israel from the North and West whilst Iranian rockets reign down on it from Iran as well as Hezbollah  rockets from Lebanon.

Remember this war on Iran has been long in the planning and was supposed to occur many years back not long after we went into Iraq.

It was only the facts that the lies that that the Iraq war were based on were uncovered along with a poor strategy for Iraq after the invasion that led to a huge insurgency. Plus military fatigue through multiple tours of duty and all the political protest against the war across the world that Israel didn't get their desired war with Iran.

Therefore the US/UK/Israel axis couldn't rush in to attack Iran whilst already bogged down in two wars already and whilst surrounding Iran perfectly  from Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Georgia and Afghanistan they were ill equipped to do anything about it - especially under a democratic US Presidency.

One which supposedly wanted to make the world a more peaceful place, end the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and especially one in which their President had been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize (why?) and gave a speech in Cairo claiming a new relationship with the Islamic nations of that region.

Even the mud hut dwelling 7th century tribalists who we call "Taliban" and "al-Qaeda" in Afghanistan have proven a harder force to defeat than a conventional ancient army like Iraq had. Vietnam showed the world that the best form of defense against big over reaching and high tech based war machines is simplicity.

There is no harder enemy to defeat than one which is led by popular resistance and who are indistinguishable from soldiers. Therefore the war with Iran has had to be planned over a longer period.

In reality we are already at war with Iran (although covertly) and all the Stuxnet viruses, assassinations on nuclear scientists, threats of nuclear war and our supporting of terrorist groups like Jundullah and the MEK have shown our hypocrisy to the world.

Whilst we designate groups who we dislike terrorists we have no problem training those who have been busy blowing up Iranian military installations and murdering Iranian civilians and soldiers.
"The attacks, which have killed five Iranian nuclear scientists since 2007 and may have destroyed a missile research and development site, have been carried out in dramatic fashion, with motorcycle-borne assailants often attaching small magnetic bombs to the exterior of the victims’ cars." - rockcenter.msnbc.msn.com
And proof of our support of such terrorists is not hard to find as within one year we already have already found ourselves fighting two wars on the same side as our mortal enemy al-Qaeda. As Seymour Hersh said in the New Yorker in a story about the Bush administration providing MEK operatives terrorist training at secret facilities in Nevada starting in 2005:
“We did train them here, and washed them through the Energy Department because the D.O.E. owns all this land in southern Nevada,” a former senior American intelligence official told me.
“We were deploying them over long distances in the desert and mountains, and building their capacity in communications
The Iranian dissident agents received the full panoply of spook training offering by U.S. Special Forces operatives:
They got “the standard training,” he said, “in commo [communications], crypto [cryptography], small-unit tactics, and weaponry—that went on for six months…” - Global Research.
This is the same Seymour Hersh known for breaking stories such as Dick Cheney's personal team of assassins and the false flag attacks discussed to start war with Iran in the Strait of Hormuz. It seems we have no problem supporting, training and funding terrorists when it serves our own political ends such as removing Russian allies like Syria and Iran from the map.

But when it comes to attacking people like Julian Assange for trying to get two sides of the story from groups like Hezbollah who defended Lebanon successfully from an Israeli attack in 2006 they are outraged. Therefore we are left with our allies Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

Saudia Arabia who lest we forget helped to crush Bahrainian protests with Western bought military equipment including tanks, guns and rockets. As the Telegraph notes: The Armed Forces Minister, Nick Harvey, said that the UK Government could not rule out the possibility that British-trained Saudis took part in the Bahraini operation.
He said: "The Ministry of Defence has extensive and wide-ranging bilateral engagement with Saudi Arabia in support of the Government's wider foreign policy goals. The Ministry of Defence's engagement with Saudi Arabia includes training provided to the Saudi Arabian National Guard, delivered through the British mission."
"It is possible that some members of the Saudi Arabian National Guard which were deployed in Bahrain may have undertaken some training provided by the British military mission."
So not only do we crticise countries like Syria and Libya when they crack down on protesters as they are "enemies" we would love to control we also help the allied Middle Eastern countries we do control crack down on their own protesters.

In the rush to gather up the propaganda for war with Iran. A war that will de-stabilise the whole region, possibly cause a nuclear conflict, and at the very least drive up the price of petrol and bring huge risk of terrorist response attacks to the streets of London and New York.

We seem to forget that Bahraini protesters have been dying constantly for the last year in their drive for human rights and dignity. As the BBC reports today a protester has been found dead this morning ahead of the Grand Prix.
A man has been killed in Bahrain during overnight clashes with the security forces, activists say, a day before Sunday's F1 Grand Prix.
Officials said an investigation had been launched after his body was discovered in a Shia village near the capital, Manama. Tens of thousands on Friday took part in at times violent protests demanding an end to the crackdown on dissent. On Saturday, police fired tear gas to disperse new rallies, eyewitnesses say.
The mainstream media has no problem attacking Russia for supporting Syria due to the ancient Russian naval base in Tartus but they are less adapt at criticising their own governments for blacking out the uprisings in allied nations like Bahrain and Saudi Arabia where US bases reside - unless of course a major sporting event arrives in town and brings a huge amount of press along with it.

So today is one day that the Bahraini protesters will be heard and it will be our duty to ensure they continue to be heard.

If the Middle East Spring is really about democracy and human rights and not just about preparing the way for war with Iran then we should be helping the Bahraini's in the same way we helped Egypt and Libya and not holding double standards and revealing our governments hypocrisy to the world.

I don't hold out much hope though.

The BBC reveals only a few months too late that MI6 was involved in the torture of the terrorist and new Libyan commander of Tripoli Abdel Hakim Belhaj

By Dark Politricks

As I have been saying for ages in my musings about Libya and our flip flopping links with terrorists including these two recent articles:

When does the enemy of our enemy stay our friend?

NATO helps install Jihadists and Terrorists in control of Libya.

M16 was involved in the rendetion and torture of one of the top leaders in the new Libyan terrorist government that NATO helped to install.

Abdel Hakim Belhaj, a confirmed Libyan jihadist with links to al-Qaeda and who is currently a top military  commander in the new Libyan government is  suing both the MI6 and the British government, accusing them of complicity in his illegal rendition and alleged torture at their behest.

For those people who haven't heard of the type of people who we as "humanitarians" helped other-throw Gaddafi for. Abdel Hakim Belhaj is the founder of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG).

After the Taliban took power in Kabul in 1996, the LIFG kept two training camps in Afghanistan; one of them, 30 kilometers north of Kabul – run by Abu Yahya – which was strictly for al-Qaeda-linked jihadis.

After 9/11, Abdel Belhaj moved to Pakistan and also to Iraq, where he befriended none other than hardcore terrorist and al-Qaeda beheading expert in Iraq Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

So Abdel Belhaj was not only a follower of bin Laden. He was also a well known jihadist in his own rights and the leader of an outlawed terrorist group in Libya. One in which the ex M15 agent David Shayler says the British secret service paid to carry out a botched execution attempt on Gaddaffi back in the 90's.

Then in 2003 Abdel Belhaj was arrested and taken extraordinary rendition-style, to a secret Bangkok prison, and duly tortured by the Americans.

Then in In 2004, the USA decided to send him as a gift to Libyan intelligence until he was freed by Saif Islam al-Gaddafi in March of 2010, along with other 211 terrorists.

Before being set free Abdel Belhaj and the other terrorists had to sign a 417-page confession in which they declared the jihad against Gaddafi illegal and finally over. Then I guess he just melted away until he became useful again to the globalists when they decided to other-throw the once foe, then friend again Col Gaddafi.

So as the BBC is now reporting finally (months later than the alternative media #altnews) this rebel leader is now suing us for our actions before he became our ally and the top commander of our now free and liberal Libya.

A kind and loving place where women can walk with their heads held high without fear of rape, and all men are treated equal whether they be homosexual, Christian or Jew.

A place where our western human rights have been imported and taken on-board wholeheartedly, and a place any European or American would now willingly love to holiday to or maybe relocate for life - of course I kid. The place is a mess (we created) full of tribal infighting and hate seen only a few weeks ago when a World War II cemetery was destroyed by Libyan rebels.

Gaddafi may have been evil but I guess a lot of these people are just as evil and as Libya is now a tribal mess of revenge, death, rape and summary executions of anyone blacker than light brown.

It seems we have created the potential for more than a little blowback down the years. How that blowback bites us in the ass we shall have to wait and see but the new Libya is already sending fighters to Syria to fight Assad, another al-Qaeda backed war we seem to be on the same side with.

From the BBC News website today and reported on it's news channels - only a few months later than reported on sites like this and others.

UK government 'approved Abdel Hakim Belhaj's rendition'

Abdel Hakim Belhaj
Mr Belhaj is now head of the Tripoli Military Council in the new Libya

The UK government approved the 2004 rendition of a terror suspect to the Gaddafi regime, the BBC can reveal.

A letter from an MI6 officer refers to Abdel Hakim Belhaj's rendition to Libya. It congratulates the Libyans on the "safe arrival" of the "air cargo".

Mr Belhaj says he was tortured in jail. Successive UK governments have denied complicity in rendition or torture.

But BBC correspondent Peter Taylor says he understands Mr Belhaj's rendition was given ministerial approval.

However it is not clear at what level of government the decision was authorised.

The letter from the senior MI6 officer, Sir Mark Allen, to Col Gaddafi's intelligence chief, Musa Kusa, was found last year in the rubble of Musa Kusa's headquarters, which were bombed by Nato.

As well as congratulating the Libyans on the arrival of the "cargo", it points out that "the intelligence was British".

The letter was sent in 2004 when Mr Belhaj was the leader of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group.

MI5 believed the group was close to al-Qaeda and involved in recruiting young Muslims in Britain to fight in Iraq.

Our correspondent says it appears MI6 had discovered that Mr Belhaj was in Malaysia and about to head for London in the hope of obtaining political asylum.

MI6 informed its foreign intelligence partners, and as a result Mr Belhaj was intercepted in Bangkok, presumably by the CIA, and rendered to Libya.

Our correspondent says the letter suggests MI6 was complicit in Mr Belhaj's illegal rendition and alleged torture in Libya - but that MI6 was not acting unilaterally.

He says his understanding is that MI6 obtained authorisation from the Labour government of the time for its action.

Jack Straw was the Labour Foreign Secretary in 2004 when the rendition took place. In an interview on BBC Radio 4 last year he said:
"We were opposed to unlawful rendition. We were opposed to any use of torture or similar methods. Not only did we not agree with it, we were not complicit in it and nor did we turn a blind eye to it."
He added:
"No foreign secretary can know all the details of what its intelligence agencies are doing at any one time."
His office told the BBC Mr Straw had nothing further to add in the light of the current allegations.

Legal action in UK

Mr Belhaj - now a senior military commander in the new Libya that Britain helped create - is suing MI6 and the British government, accusing them of complicity in his illegal rendition and alleged torture.

He says he believes he was rendered from Bangkok to Libya by the CIA.

The Metropolitan Police is also investigating his allegations.

Mr Belhaj worked with Nato as one of the leaders of the forces that helped overthrow Col Muammar Gaddafi.

But he claims that during his more than four years in prison he was interrogated by agents from countries including the UK and US.

He had been living in exile in Beijing after leading opposition to Col Gaddafi.

In 2010, Prime Minister David Cameron established a Detainee Inquiry into "whether Britain was implicated in the improper treatment of detainees, held by other countries, that may have occurred in the aftermath of 9/11".

However, the inquiry was mothballed in January 2012 after the Metropolitan Police announced it was investigating Mr Belhaj's claims.

Justice Secretary Ken Clarke said the government was committed to holding a judge-led inquiry once these were investigated.

UK Home Office website is brought down by Hacktivists over new police state surveillance bill

By Dark Politricks

The UK Home Office website has been the subject of a Denial of Service attack by the group Anonymous.

Over Saturday night and Sunday morning and intermittently at the moment the UK Home Office Site was (and sometime is) unavailable to visit.

The reasons for the attack are clear and are mainly due to the recent revelation that the coalition government is going to introduce a Big Brother style system at the UK's surveillance site GCHQ that would allow the UK security services to monitor all website, email, social media and other Internet traffic for signs of "malcontent" all under the guise of protecting us from terrorism.

Anonymous Twitter messages warned of the attack on 4 April, and said:
"EXPECT a DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) every Saturday on the UK Government sites."
They have also tweeted that the attack would occur every Saturday from now on.

Other tweets said the attack was related to the unfair extradition treaty that could see Gary McKinnon extradited to the USA for crimes committed in the UK.
"You should not give UK citizens to foreign countries without evidence. If an offence happened in the UK, so should the trial."
Many other tweets also attacked our current unfair extradition treaty that allows UK citizens from Gary McKinnon to the Student Richard O'Dwyer, of Chesterfield, who is also fighting extradition on copyright infringement charges on a website he ran from the UK.

These unbalanced extradition laws were implemented by the previous authoritarian Labour government and allow UK citizens to be extradited with little evidence given.

However an American citizen cannot be extradited to our country under the same conditions and proper proof of a crime being committed by the person has to be given first for their extradition to the UK to be allowed.

This unfair extradition treaty was supposed to be re-balanced though the supposed "Freedom Bill" that was heralded as a restoration of civil rights that had been removed by Labour government.

It was supposed to re-balance the extradition treaty along with a large number of other Big Brother offences including the right to protest near parliament, the right to remain silent when arrested and many others. But surprise surprise when the bill was published it was a very cut down version that had all these very important measures removed.

Last month the Commons Home Affairs Select Committee said major changes were needed to the UK-US extradition treaty to restore "public faith".

The MPs said they believed it was

"easier to extradite a British citizen to the USA than vice versa".

Even though some MP's in the coalition seem to want to reduce the size of our existing surveillance state, from David Davis to Lib Dem MP Chris Huhne who recently lost his ministerial job due to a charge of perverting the course of justice, and many others. It seems there are not enough numbers to really make real changes to the establishment that continues to expand its surveillance state whoever sits in government.

You could call this the non-elected government who controls everything behind the scenes anything from the UK civil service to the globalist cabal that meet each year at Bilderberg.

They could be the the rich and powerful donors to each political party or even the security services that keep their jobs whoever is in power.

Or you may go further and call this un-elected establishment the all seeing and all pervasive deep state that exists across borders and controls all countries politicians through bribery, patronage, sex, money and blackmail. You could even go further down the rabbit hole  but I will leave that to you to to explore yourselves.

The group Anonymous seem to be acting in the interests of Internet freedom and anti-surveillance measures and I hope they are.

But due to their totally anonymous  nature I worry that they could easily be infected by pro-globalist agents who then carry out attacks that make it even more likely that anti-Internet actions like the USA's "Internet Kill Switch" or the UK's new Internet surveillance powers are introduced.

Earlier this week Anonymous claimed to have defaced almost 500 websites in China.

A message put on the hacked sites said the attack was carried out to protest against the Chinese government's strict control of its citizens.

Will the Chinese government listen I wonder or will they implement even stricter controls. It will be interesting to see. As for the UK Home Office website I can access it very quickly at the moment but as I watch UK news some journalists are saying the site is still unavailable.

Lets hope the bill that that has been proposed by the government to snoop and spy on us all is actually stopped or at least watered down as the President of the Lib Dem's, Tim Farron,  said on the Andrew Marr show this morning:
"I am prepared to recognise that there is obviously a need in modern society with new technology to have a look at what needs to be given to the security services but only if it is absolutely clear there is no universal access."

"But we are prepared to kill them, be absolutely clear about that, if it comes down to it."
But I hold out little hope that any liberty lovers in government will do anything that doesn't give our already too powerful security services more powers to snoop and spy on us.

Maybe we should just admit that everything we do on the web is already read, analysed and grouped in databases for levels of malcontent.

We  already know they have super computers to spy on us and that if you want to remain anonymous on the internet it is basically impossible.

If only the Lib Dem's had actually managed to force through a real Freedom Bill...

Hopefully Gorgeous George can help defeat the new governments Police State agenda

By Dark Politricks

In another reminder why we cannot trust anything a politician says, the Tory/Lib Dem government are to revise plans to snoop on all emails, social media and web site traffic that Labour abandoned after the government (then the opposition) kicked up a huge fuss about civil liberties.

Obviously GCHQ, ECHELON and all the other taps into the backbones and keylogger botnets controlled by the "government" allow them to do this already however any new law is just going to legalise the practise.

If you don't believe me just check out a few of these links.
  1. US linked company builds back-doors into their PC's for NSA to access them and buys out popular web company for easy access to private conversations.
  2. What is ECHELON and how does it work and why is it being used to spy on us now that the Cold War is over?
  3. Why we are walking into a surveillance society by consent, where our phones, satellites and CCTV cameras on most walls and shops track our every move.
  4. The death of the "Free" Internet, how China is being used as a template for our own Internet freedom crushing bills in the west.
And those are just a few of the articles I have linked to or written myself. There are literally hundreds more and each article contains links to other sites where more information can be found but the key point to remember is this - we are being watched and we are not paranoid because it's been admitted and it's true.

Take as many anti-psychotic pills the doctors want to prescribe/sell you but that won't stop the key fact that the days of our free internet are long over and just staying under the radar is getting harder and harder.

The best way not to be tracked by our global surveillance system is to go a live in an underground cave in the middle of nowhere, speak to no-one and do nothing involving a modern electronic device.

Pretty boring I admit but unfortunatley in this age it's the only think that will work.

Do you really think the old adage of "If you have nothing to fear you have nothing to hide" is really true when huge super computers the size of cities are being built in the USA to trawl like fisherman all internet traffic and then sift it for anything useful.

Do you really think that you won't have at least a few emails to Aunty Vira or Cousin Dave sifted through because you mentioned the word terrorist or Muslim?

As the now "pay to read" Sunday Times says today:
THE government is to expand hugely its powers to monitor email exchanges and website visits of every person in Britain.

Under plans expected to be announced in the Queen’s speech next month, internet companies will be told to install thousands of pieces of hardware to allow GCHQ, the government’s eavesdropping centre, to scrutinise “on demand” every phone call made, text message and email sent and website accessed in real time.

Under the current law, companies must keep records for some traditional types of phone and electronic communication for a year.

The new legislation would extend this provision to cover a much wider field, including social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter and online video games.

An effort by Labour to introduce a similar law was shelved in 2006 after fierce opposition from the Tories, Liberal Democrats and privacy campaigners.
I won't even pretend to be surprised anymore when I hear that our government brings out plans that they opposed in opposition and it only goes to show that anything Ed Miliband and co say at the moment should be taken with more than a large pinch of salt.

They will literally say anything to get your vote and once gained they treat it with disdain.

In fact it won't be long until the idea of National ID cards and "Real Online Personalities" are brought up by the once considered liberterian-ish Tory/LibDem coalition.

Who can forget the huge let down that the "Freedom Bill" turned out to be when it changed into the "Protection of Freedoms Bill (HC Bill 146)"

A bill that the Lib Dem's promised to bring into law once they gained power to roll back all the police state measures enacted by Labour's 13 years of CCTV, RIPA, Mega Databases, ID cards and unbalanced and unfair extradition treaties with the USA that have seen UK citizens in the dozen flown off to America to probably never be seen again without an orange jump suit on.

You can read the original Freedom bill here and it was a good bill.

A bill that was needed to restore our right to protest and our right to silence in the face of bent cops looking for  short cut.

However when the bill was actually published it was a cut down version with anything good removed and was heralded as nothing more than a bill to stop rouge wheel clampers from clamping your car.

Whatever happened when those Lib Dem's walked through the doors of power....

So d0n't hold out out too much hope of fairer taxes, banker bashing, or any of the actual Labour policies that are known at the moment as anything said over the next 3 years is just bullshit to trick you into voting for them.

Once they are in power they will forget them all and do whatever they are told from above.

Lets not forget MI5 spent a long time spying on Labour when it was a real party of opposition that offered real change and there is more than a good argument that Tony Blair was groomed by the agency to become their leader and turn it into the New Labour, third way, bland centrist party we now see before us.

Take away the choice - control the sheeple and still let them think they decide their own fate.

Therefore I am glad Gorgeous George Galloway recently won the "safe" Labout seat in Bradford the other night and for his Respect party.

With the war in Iran about to kick off, and talk of another 10 years of death and destruction in the Middle East about to start to "spread democracy", as we have so poorly done in Libya.

I am grateful there will be at least one member of Parliament that can give a good speech to attack the war mongering policies that will no doubt be put forward by our coalition government.

Good on you George!

I hope you give them hell in Westminster. I might not agree with everything you say or stand for but I defend your right to say it, and on the matter of Palestine v Israel and the illegal wars of terror there is no better orator than you when it comes to defending the Palestinians against the might of Israel and their US paymasters.

Hopefully you can help kick up a fuss about the new surveillance state the Tory / LibDem government is planning for us as well.
